Are you a designhead + what does that mean to you? I'd say so. I'd say it's someone who is interested in the details of different medium.
The last thing you made: A music video for my song PE3
The next thing you want to make: My second album
A design object you love: The first one that comes to mind are these Eckhaus Latta Sunglasses I just got. I'm a big fan of things that are 'in the middle' like an obvious crossbreed of two/ three things that already exist. To me these look like aviators mixed with those thin sunglasses rappers would wear in the 90's, then ran through the washing machine and giving the frames this weird wobbly edge, like the outlines on Ed, Edd n Eddy.
A design object you can’t stand the sight of: Poorly-built housing with fake painted bricks on the outside. Just kinda shows where we're at in the UK with the issues with housing.
A moment of pure creative joy: For me nothing beats the feeling of finding the 'thing' when making music. The 'thing' could be anything sonically, a certain riff, synth, chords, drum pattern, etc. that makes you know "Ok, this song will not be abandoned — it's graduated from just an idea."
What does it mean to “design the future”? I feel like what that means can change quite frequently honestly. The "future" feels so uncertain especially in the last 4 years. Everything is shifting and changing so quickly. I'd say for me, designing the future would be looking into the past and understanding what was good and what was bad about that time. Seeing how it fits in a modern context and using that "vibe" rather than just copying aesthetics.
Words to live by: Too many to name. I'll just say what my dad has always told me "Look after your face."
Your aesthetic approach embodied as a ...
