Chris Cadaver is a Designhead
"design is placing things where they belong in this chaos, it feels instinctual."
Designheads is a profile series featuring members of our community and their relationship to the world of design.
Ok—we’re beginning to notice a pattern: the average designhead does, in fact, love design, but it turns out that they also love a lot of other things as well. Music, fine art, good food, strange films, particular habits, hard-to-find textiles, out-of-print books, retrofuturist technology—the list goes on. To be a designhead means your love for designed furniture and objects is inseparable from the rest of your life and your world: everything is interconnected.
For interdisciplinary visual creator Chris Cadaver, a love for design is only one facet on the wide and diverse volume of his work, which ranges from print (see his contribution to the most recent issue of Cult Classic, which our Pink Essay team was lucky enough to be in), to apparel, to food products, to album art, to film direction, and includes collaborations with artists like Yeek, Frank Ocean, and Bad Bunny.
Even with this impressive CV, Chris’s demeanor is always effortlessly kind, personal, and connected, and we’re grateful to count him a member of our designhead community. Chris sent over his answers to our collection of designheads queries + some sweet photos of his life and world—read more below:
